All clothing and jewelry is made in very small batches in Victoria, Canada. Currently, Korinne designs and pattern-drafts all the clothing. There are two production contractors that help cut and sew the garments. A great focus is upon making the most out of the fabric and reducing waste. Leftover fabric scraps are donated to local seamstresses and the business is currently on a realistic less-waste mission for 2018. All scraps have been collected for the year. Some are donated to Leslie who makes kids sun hats from them (contact me if you’d like her info), are made into scrunchies, sold in small bundles and others saved for patchwork dreams.
Most items are made upon order. Please be aware that current order turnaround time can take up to 10 business days before shipping.
All clay work is made by Korinne and is carried back and forth from her studio, to her small electric setter kiln at home for firing.
FABRIC & CLAY
All fabrics are made from natural fibres - linen, hemp, cotton, silk, wool or Tencel and are purchased from local fabric shops, small vendors and Canadian wholesalers. Some of the fabrics are OEKO-TEX certified. Some of the linens are European fibres that meets high environmental standards and are dyed & finished in the United States. To inquire further, please see the Fabric Information page and contact me with any questions.
The clay and glazes are purchased from local pottery suppliers.
Update: We have started grading patterns and there will be more items sized xs-xl in the coming months.
A few garments will be graded for spring (the most requested garments) Please remember that every pattern created costs hundreds of dollars to create - pattern development, fabric, multiple samples, fit model, photography, and models.
Currently, Korinne Vader handmade goods produces one size women's garments. All flat measurements are in descriptions and if the fabric has been pre-washed.
We understand that women are not one size and wish we could make all the sizes, but we're a small business, very small.
All garments have care instruction labels sewn into them. Most items are to be hand washed in cold water and hang to dry.
All jewelry is a mixture of clay and fibre. To ensure a long life, handle with care and keep away from water. Please be aware that the jewelry is ceramic or porcelain and will chip, crack or break if dropped or bumped. Earring posts are surgical steel and attached with two part epoxy for ceramic and metal. I take great care in sanding, cleaning, gluing and allowing the earrings to dry fully to ensure the posts are securely attached. There is no guarantee, replacement or fixing on all ceramic and porcelain jewelry. If there is breakage or the earring post comes away from the earring, use a two part epoxy for metal and ceramic to secure again. Korinne Vader Handmade Goods is not responsible for jewelry after it is purchased and in the hands of the customer.
